NBC Series “The Americas” Released; Tom Hanks Reveals Frozen Frogs
The Americas, a ten-part NBC series produced by BBC Studios and narrated by Tom Hanks, is now airing on NBC (Sundays 8 p.m. ET) and streaming on Peacock (next day).
“Who Filmed That?”
Tom Hanks appeared on Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote the series last week. To my delight, the clip they showed is from a sequence we filmed, showing some extraordinary behavior that’s never been captured on film before:
Tom Hanks:
Who filmed that? They had like eighteen crews, a thousand days — is there a pecking order of the crew that is being the most punished gets to shoot the freezing frog every night, over and over again?
Yes, that would be us!
I’m happy to report that it was the most epic remote location shoot I’ve done in recent years — harsh conditions and very challenging behavior to film, but a real privilege — no punishment involved.
