Lone Rider in the Snow
Winter has arrived early again—Groningen awoke to streets covered in snow this morning. I’m taking the opportunity to post several photos from around this time last year of Hans Hannemann (of Hans Hannemann & the Lone Riders) playing the harmonica. Somehow they never made it onto the old blog.
It had been snowing for weeks on end, and I called up Hans with a slightly crazy idea: “Let’s go out and make some music in the snow.” Hans just said, “Sure, why not,” and spent the next hour or so treating everyone who braved the cold for a walk in the park to a one-man concert while the snow poured down around us.
When he’s not performing by himself, Hans forms a terrific band together with his Lone Riders, Maarten van Damme (Stevie Ann), Jan-Peter Hoekstra (Krezip) and Wim Geenen (Admiral Freebee).
They have been kind enough to make their song “Saint Stephen’s Green” available especially for us, so turn up the volume and tune in!
If you’d like to hear more, you can listen to several other songs here.
